Avatar Cache is a morphable cache design that delivers security on demand at state-of-the-art cache design complexity. Users can opt out of security to avoid its performance and power overheads, motivated by the Mirage cache’s use of extra ways for security combined with high associativity to reduce overheads.
- Implemented on the ChampSim multi-core simulator.
- In secure mode: 0.2% performance overhead, 2% power overhead, and 0.9% storage overhead.
